Soap Lake Urban Homesteads/Soap Lake Community Garden (SLUH/SLCC) is Non-profit organization embracing the Urban Food Movement to it fullest by starting with our community first. SLUH/SLCC brought chickens and a community garden to Soap Lake. Members and volunteers are passionate about the Urban food movement and our community's belief that everyone deserves to know their food.
SLUH/SLCC was started in 2011 wanting to help others start their own Urban Homesteads starting with chickens and a community garden. May 2012 the City of Soap Lake passed their chicken ordinance to allow chickens. Spring 2012 the Soap Lake Community Garden became more than an idea as the McKay Center welcomed the community garden as part of their landscape.THIS is what a community family looks like♥
We are looking for new members and volunteers as our projects keep on growing♥ To become a member or volunteer for a project just contact us.
